Yesterday, we visited the Turtleback Zoo in West Orange, NJ. Since it was winter, many of the neighborhood zoo’s animals were not on display. We did, however, see black bears, bald eagles, flirtatious peacocks, wallabies, llamas, bison, elk, wolves, bobcats, mountain lions/cougars, ground hogs and a few reptiles. Riley was very interested in the cats (we have cats so this makes sense..)
Riley reacted oddly a horse in the petting zoo. The horse got a little too close to him and he started to moan/cry. Both the wife and I were a bit shocked because we thought fear was learned. He exhibited this behavior a couple of months ago when a vacuum cleaner bumped his high chair. I could understand a vacuum cleaner but a horse was a bit strange to us.
